Berry Breakfast Smoothie

Is there anybody out there NOT trying to get their kids to eat more fruits and veggies? I know we sometime struggle to get in our recommended daily dose! This Breakfast Berry Smoothie is a great way to start the day. It’s full of healthful ingredients and tastes delicious without being loaded with extra sugar and there is no dairy so its technically vegan I suppose! This recipe includes bananas for a boost of potassium, spinach for iron, berries for all kinds of assorted vitamins and flax seed for a dose of Omega-3s.

We like to use a blend of frozen berries like the one below from my favorite store Aldi when we make ours but you could use plain strawberries, raspberries or blueberries if you’d prefer. Make sure that you do use frozen berries however or your smoothie will turn out kind of slimy and nobody wants that. Be sure also to serve it right away too as the flax seed and pectin from the fruit can make the smoothie stiffen up when left out.
